However, curricula and ways of teaching veterinary students have evolved considerably in the last few years, and the impact of Covid-19 pandemic on placement availability and feasibility led to several new innovations in teaching core clinical skills and engaging students in both animal husbandry and clinical environments. Following the announcement of a further review of EMS by the RCVS, a BVA Working Group was formed which has heard evidence from a broad range of stakeholders and considered the role EMS could and should play in a modern veterinary curriculum.
